Websites, sorted.

Design, build, hosting and the fiddly bits — for cafés, bars, shops, trades and everyone else who works for themselves around here.

What I actually do

Four things, done properly.

Website design and build

A site that looks like you and works everywhere. Designed around how your customers actually reach you: phone first, map second, no guessing games.

Edit it yourself

Menus, opening hours, prices, photos, news. The things you'll want to change quickly are easy to change — and I'll sit with you until you've done it once yourself.

Hosting and care

Fast, secure hosting, backups, updates and monitoring. When something needs doing, email or ring me: I am the support department.

Local SEO

The basics done properly: Google Business, local pages, good words on real pages — so people searching in your town find you, not a directory.

How it works, roughly

No agency process, no jargon. A few conversations and some honest work.

  1. We talk

A brew, a walk round your place, or a phone call. Tell me what you do and what you want the website to do. You'll get a plain-English price, not a quote spreadsheet.

  2. I build

The site takes shape in front of you — first a rough look, then the real thing with your photos and words. Two rounds of changes are built in.

  3. You're in charge

I hand it over with a walkthrough and stay around for the bits and bobs. You change the everyday things; I look after everything else.

Fair questions

What does it cost?

It depends what you need, so I price it per project: honest, fixed and in plain English after we've talked. Hosting and care is a small monthly amount. No lock-in, no surprise invoices.

How long does it take?

A straightforward site usually takes three to five weeks from our first chat. If you have a deadline — a season opening, an event — tell me early and I'll say honestly whether it's doable.

I already have a website. Can you improve it?

Sometimes a rebuild is right, sometimes just a tune-up. I'll look at what you have and tell you straight — including if the honest answer is "leave it alone".

Do I own my website?

Yes. The domain is in your name and the content is yours. If you ever want to move on, it moves with you.

I'm not good with computers.

Then this is for you. The everyday changes are built to be easy, I show you how in person or on a call, and you can always just ring me.

Tell me what you do.

Drop me a line with a bit about your business. I'll reply with honest thoughts and a plain price — whether or not we end up working together.
