Hello from the Lakes.
I'm Alasdair. I build websites from home up here, with an unreasonable amount of care and a dog under the desk.
The story
I've been building websites for the best part of a decade, mostly for people who run actual places — cafés, bars, shops, trades. Places you can walk into. Those are my favourite kind of websites: they have to work on a phone in the rain, in a car park, on one bar of signal.
I started Lake District Websites because local businesses deserve better than a template and a monthly fee for nothing. I work how I'd want to be worked with: plain prices, straight answers, and someone who remembers your name and what your business actually does.
When I'm not building sites I'm usually up a fell with Angelo, or holding reflectors for Francesca, who takes the photographs around this site. Between us we cover the words, the pictures and the fiddly technical bits — which is about everything a website needs.

Takes the photos that make your business look like itself — shopfront, counter, the good side of the room. Also the reason there's fresh sourdough in the house.

Chief Snooze Officer
Attends all important meetings from his bed under the desk. Approves launches by rolling over. In charge of morale and walks.
